How to draw a Jumping Horse
Draw the shapes for the sketch.
Then you can flesh it out.
Then you can select a pen and choose the lines you want to keep and erase the rest.

How to draw an Arabian Horse
Use shapes to sketch the horse your drawing. In this drawing the hind legs are not level with the front, so don't try to make them level or the drawing will come out disproportionate.
Once you have the basic shapes down you can start fleshing in. Make sure you get all the curves in. I choose to take out the human and the halter. I also drew in the shadow. You might notice I added in some mane and a nice big forlock.
You can use a pen and draw in the lines you want to keep. You can use slashes to darken as I did with the shadow. Or you can smudge your ink to shade, as I did on the flank and belly. To color this grey Arab I recommend water color. Put black in the dark areas and use water to dilute to grey and white.
Please tell me if you have any requests and what you think.

How to draw a horse/standerdbred
When drawing any animal it is detrimental to have at least a simple understanding of their bone structure.
In drawing a horse it helps to draw circles and shapes to guide. One for the head, neck, shoulder/chest, belly, hindquarters, knees, hocks, and pasterns. Remember where the bones are as you place the shapes.
You can start coloring now. Watercolor, marker, color pencils, whatever you want. Shade the darker areas. I did these drawings on the computer, on a program called Manga Studio Ex4.

Once you have drawn the circles you can start fleshing in. Again, keep in mind where the bones are.
Now that you have the lines down you can pick up a pen and draw in the ones you want to keep. After you draw all the lines you can erase the pencil.
