I'm Back For Now

I have not posted a thing for an age, decade, forever, or long time.
So many things have been happening, all worth a blog, or three, but sadly I've been to lazy.

Comety is through with training for now(Will have pics later). And is looking GREAT!!!

I've  started school again, This time as a sophomore.

I am conditioning Boeagle for endurance riding.

Trying to keep up with riding Merlin.

And I need to work with Comety more.

And now I will proceed to write a blog about water:

               OH WATER SWEET WATER

I was taking a shower a leisurely shower letting the water run down my back and then into the drain, WHEN tragedy struck !
The water lessened and lessened intill it was all but a drip.
My parents discussed, and were wondering if perhaps our well had run dry?

This struck images through the best of us...

Living off the horses water troughs, using it for showers, syphoning out the green lumps of algae, avoiding the fish... using it to wash our cloths so that we may go to school.
Waiting...Waiting for the problem to be solved.

We switched all the water off of all the water except for the house and... we ... had ... WATER!!!
We had been without it for a day, but what a day!

We investigated further into the matter of what was wrong with our water supply, was it not deep enough any more?

We later found that in the cow pastures the cows had broken a water line resulting in all our water spewing out into the air.
The problem was fixed and we continued our life with water once more.

And in all of us we could not stop humming or singing " Water oh Water , sweet water"...

And so the lesson in this is to not take water for granted and appreciate all the little things in life.

And now to write about the most recently occurring Trail ride.

         The 2 Hour Ride
Never start a ride with the assumption that it will be a nice easy, with a few hills trail ride that will take at most 2 hours, NEVER!!!
It started well, My dad was riding eagle(Boeagle's father) and my mom was riding Emery and I was on Boeagle.

We were going through the first gate when a huge black dog burst though it as well.

It was Dominoes the dog that just that morning I had said" If he comes he might die" and so had been shut into the trailer tack room , had burst though the gate with energy, energy , energy.

Soooo.... we let him come, along with our young cow dog Gege(not sure if that's how its spelled). This Lady's and Gentlemen was our biggest mistake.

We choose to do the Upper Loop one of the hardest rides we do.
It was a hot and sunny 98.

Half way through Dominoes started to lag behind.
We started to have to wait for him to catch up.
He gallantly kept trying to keep up.
And then it got to the point that we started to think of how we could get him home if he could not keep going.

Could we sling him over the back of a horse? Would we have to drive a truck up in the mountains to get him?

We slowly led him to a watering hole and headed home, leaving him there as he could not continue.

We got back 4 hours later than we had thought and still had to launch a rescue for the old dog.

My dad took off in his 4x4 drive Toyota.
Into the gathering darkness he went, on his first attempt he found a bear ... but no dog. Thinking that perhaps the dog had come back home he headed back only to find that lassy had not come home.
This time I went with him, After shouting our voices hoarse we found him at the watering hole, he had left and then come back...

He is at the moment laying on a dog bed, licking his torn feet , and letting out a howl or whine every couple of minutes.
